ANOTHER NIGHT AT THE CANDLELIGHT:
“ANYTHING GOES” IS EVERYTHING GOOD

Every now and then I need a break from my beat of politics and world affairs, and the entertainment outlets that I find most satisfying in this regard are theatre, music, and sports (and, of course, literature). And, as many of you know, one of my favorite theatrical experiences is a night at the Candlelight Pavilion here in Claremont. I am amazed at how infrequently the Candlelight disappoints me, or, put in a more favorable light, I never cease to marvel at the consistency with which they produce theatrical excellence. My most recent experience, Cole Porter’s Anything Goes is not only a continuation of this run of great reviews, it is the whipped cream on what has been a season of entertainment fudge sundaes for me.
Again, I have to tip my hat to Ben Bollinger and his family for making such rich culture so readily available. Every time I get in my car after the show ends, and drive the 4 and
